How To Measure Your Radiator

There are two types of radiators, downflow and crossflow.

Downflow

- The coolant flows from top to bottom. The tanks are on the top and bottom.

downflow

There are three measurements needed, height(2), width(3) and thickness(4). The height1) is between the two tanks and does not include the tanks. The width is measured across the tubes, and does not include the side plates.

Crossflow

- The coolant flows from one side to the other. The tanks are on the sides.

Thickness

The easiest way to measure the thickness is to stick a piece of wire through the fins until it is flush with the other side and mark the wire. Remove and measure the thickness.
